Children in Need/Non-uniform day:

This Friday, 17th November, is Children in Need Day and we are holding a non-uniform day in support of this event, asking the children to bring a donation of at least £1.00 to come to school dressed in their own choice of clothes.

Harvest:

Thank you to everyone for your Harvest gifts and your help in delivering them to nominated friends. The children in Year 6 wrote letters to the recipients of the gifts and we were also able to make a large donation of gifts to the Booth Centre. I would also like to say a special thank you to Rev Peter Reiss who led our Harvest service this year.

Individual Photographs:

School photograph proofs were sent home recently. If you wish to purchase photographs please could you return the proofs with your order clearly marked and including the money. Thank you.

Charity Appeal:

Before half term the children took part in a charity appeal for Barnardo’s, our chosen charity. The children have raised a fantastic sum of money and the Barnardo’s representative will be returning to school on Wednesday 6th December to say ‘Thank you’ to the children and letting them know the final total.

Tesco vouchers:

Thank you for your continued support in collecting vouchers for school. We are currently counting them and will let you know how many we’ve received and what we are going to order with them.

Parking issues:

Please can I remind parents that the school car park is for the use of staff and visitors to Park View. Could I ask you not to park down the centre of the car park as this causes considerable problems for staff who may need to leave promptly for attendance at courses, matches etc. Also please park carefully on Park View Road, as a number of our neighbours have experienced great difficulty in getting into and out of their driveways at busy times. Thank you

Punctuality:

Thank you to everyone who arrives on time for school every day. Unfortunately we are still experiencing problems with some children who are arriving after registration on most days. This not only causes problems with altering registers and ordering dinners, but children are missing the most important part of the first lesson. Sometimes the information learned in the first part of the Literacy or Numeracy lesson is vital to all the activities that follow. Please can a big effort be made to get children to school on time. Thank you

PTA:

Thank you to everyone who helped make this years Halloween event so successful. Everybody enjoyed themselves and the children’s costumes looked fantastic!

The next event is the Christmas Fair to be held on Sunday 10th December 11.00 to 2.00. We will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 8th December and asking the children to bring chocolates and tombola gifts as a ‘fine’ for wearing their own clothes. More details will follow.

Next meeting Tuesday 28th November at 8.00p.m. Everyone is welcome.
