NEWSLETTER

May 2007

Please find time to read this newsletter – it contains dates for future reference, items about school activities, reminders of school policy and invitations to events.

Uniform:

We are very proud of our school and we do expect every one to come to school wearing our uniform. Park View uniform consists of a red jumper or sweatshirt (with or without our school logo), a red or white polo shirt, black trousers or black skirt, or check dresses for the girls in summer. Football shirts, sweatshirts with a logo or writing on them and tracksuit pants are not part of our uniform and must not be worn. PE kit is also a much needed summer term item – plain T-shirts in House colours for junior pupils (again no football shirts) and black shorts, and trainers or pumps for outdoor use should be brought to school every week please.

(Just a reminder that uniform is on sale on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as Monday and Friday are very busy times in the office with dinner money collections etc.)

Thank you.

Punctuality:

We’ve noticed a big improvement in the number of children who are on time for school every day – well done to you all. School starts at 9.00, and many lessons begin as soon as registration is over. If your child is late for school, they may miss the most important part of the first lesson of the day.

Please could all Key Stage 2 children (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) meet on the junior playgrounds for 9.00 every morning, and Years Reception, 1 and 2 on the front playground.

Tests:

Well done to Year 6 – 100% attendance last week. Everyone is really proud of the way you approached your tests, worked hard and tried your best. Those tests have now been sent to external markers and the results are expected in school towards the end of June. Staff are busy marking the tests of other year groups in school and all results will be included in the annual report which will be sent home before the end of term.

Class photographs:

On Wednesday 6th June, the school photographer will be in school to take class photographs. Please could all children come to school wearing their school uniform.

Summer Fair:

The Summer Fair will be held on Saturday June 9th and arrangements are well in hand for our biggest event of the year.

During the first week back in school after the half term holiday, we will be holding Bottle Discos for

each class as follows:

Monday 4th June              Years 5 and 6

Tuesday 5th June              Years 3 and 4

Wednesday 6th June         Years Reception

Thursday 7th June            Years 1 and 2

Please could every child wishing to attend the discos bring a bottle into school as a donation on the day of their disco.

Sponsored Walk:

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Fancy Dress Sponsored Walk – we were very lucky with the weather, as the sun shone from start to finish. Congratulations to all who finished.

Please could all sponsor money be collected and sent into school as soon as possible.

Thank you

Dinner Money:

Please could dinner money be sent into school every Monday morning in a sealed envelope, with your child’s name and class clearly marked on it. The children can then hand the envelope to their class teacher.

Advance notice: Dinner money from September will be £1.70 per day, £8.50 per week
