NEWSLETTER
July 2009
Please find time to read this newsletter – it contains dates for future reference, items about school activities, reminders of school policy and invitations to events.
Please read the letter sent home tonight. A child in school is being treated for Swine Flu and the letter details any necessary precautions needed to be taken as well as contact numbers for further advice.
Staffing news:
We would like to wish Mrs Garside all the very best as she starts her Maternity leave – Mrs Parkinson-Wood will be teaching Year 2 during her absence from school next year.

Healthy Schools Programme:
Thank you for all your support in making our Healthy School campaign so successful this year. Don’t forget children need to bring fruit every day for playtime as crisps and sweets will not be allowed at morning break.
Dinner Money:
From next September there will be an increase in the cost of school meals. Dinners will cost £9.00 per week, £1.80 per day. Please could dinner money be sent into school on a Monday morning each week in an envelope marked with your child’s name and class, and if paying by cheque could you please write your address on the back of the cheque.
Thank you
Better Reading Partners:
For some years now a group of parents have given up a small amount of time each week in order to support identified children with their reading. This is an advance notice that a letter will be sent home in September inviting any of you who might be interested in helping with this activity to a meeting early in the new school year. Please look out for this letter if you would like to volunteer.
Thank you.
May I take this opportunity to say thank you to you all for your continued support of our school and wish you all a safe and happy holiday.
