LITERACY

  • Making own charts and flow diagrams
  • Writing a non-fiction report

NUMERACY

  • Calculation – multiplication & division; recording in  umber sentences
  • Measures – graphs
  • Problem solving – money and shape

SCIENCE:

Electricity:

  • Consider the dangers of electricity
  • Looking at batteries
  • Simple circuits using batteries, bulbs and wires

ICT:

  • Instructions – program instructions using 2go program
  • Learning about right-angle turns

HISTORY:

  • Florence Nightingale – who she was; why her work was important and still relevant today

GEOGRAPHY:

A contrasting locality:

  • Life in the city of Shanghai – similarities and differences with life in Prestwich

RE:

  • Easter – listen to the Easter story; finding out how the festival is celebrated

DT and SCIENCE

Forces:

  • Pushes and pulls; moving and changing objects
  • Design and make a pull along toy

ART:

  • Animals in art

MUSIC:

  • Chinese New Year
  • Dragon poems – adding instruments to poems

PSHE:

Going for Goals;

  • Taking responsibility; Persistence (keeping going)
  • Resilience: Setting and achieving goals

Good to be me:

  • Understanding feelings – how they lead us to behave the way we do
  • Self awareness – feeling good about myself
  • Managing my feelings; standing up for myself
